Musky Mania 46½, June 2011
Tournament Winners
|
Another Musky Mania is in the books with a beautiful weekend for fishing and Mr. Musky did not win. Even though catching was a bit slow, a good number of fish were seen by folks and several fish were lost.
A total of 4 fish were caught all on Saturday; with Gary Borkowski boating the winning fish at 42 inches. Alain Houle took second place with a 35 incher, Alain’s first musky after six Musky Manias, congratulations Alain, who said it was a fish of 30,000 casts. Rounding out the catch was Corey Earl taking third place with a 28 incher and Perry Clough with a 26 ¼ incher, congratulations to all those folks. Several other fish were caught before and after the tourney with Gary Borkowski landing a 39 incher on Friday fishing with a jig and a leech, Musky Pete landed two fish prior to the outing on Thursday and Friday with a 41 and 26 incher, and Gordie Shaw boated a 36 ½ incher on Monday. |
For those who tried their luck at fishing smallies, there were some beautiful fish caught with a good number in the 4-5 pound range. We had another great Friday night cookout with a chance to see old friends, several who had been away for awhile, as well as a great Saturday lunch with door prizes and raffle.
Thanks again to North Twin Lodge, Marti and Jen for their great hospitality and our sponsors and as usual we are looking forward to another great fall outing with Musky Mania 47 to be held on October 7th and 8th. Thanks again to Alain at AlcoWebDesign.com for all the work he does in maintaining the Musky Mania website.
Just an FYI: to all, as Musky Mania 50 approaches we need to think about folks who may have an interest in continuing the coordination of Musky Mania, bottom line is we are looking for some new bodies to step up to coordinate the activity. Good luck to all chasing Muskies this season and have a great summer.
