Musky Mania 56, June 2016
Tournament Winners

Soggy, soggy, soggy, that’s how we can describe MM56. In spite of the rainy conditions which pretty much scrapped the Friday night cookout and made fishing conditions a bit challenging, Mr. Musky did not win.
Saturday saw very rainy conditions for most of the day with 3 fish caught; Dave Koenig boated a 27 incher on South Twin, Greg Friedrich came in with a 35 incher off of Boot, and Dave Nickel caught a 17 ½ incher also off of Boot. Sunday saw more rain and windy conditions, but that did not deter the team of Perry Clough and Joe Seffker with Perry boating a nice 37 ½ incher on Kentuck to clinch first place. Congrats to all who caught fish. |
Yours (Gordie Shaw) truly managed to boat a 32 ½ Incher on Thursday on Kentuck, the really only nice day of the week. Jim Jessup and I stayed on to fish a few more days only to encounter several more days of wet and windy conditions with a nasty hail storm Sunday evening, not pretty. In two and half more days we managed to raise two fish, tough fishing conditions.
A big thanks to Greg Friedrich for a great lunch on Saturday and also a big thanks to Marti and Jen (North Twin Lodge) for their hospitality and the two night stay for a raffle prize. Also a big thanks to Alain (Alco Web Design) for his work in coordinating the MM registration and for all his work on the MM website, a great job.
MM57 is scheduled for October 8th and 9th. Attached is the cabin sign-up sheet based on folks who signed up with Marti or info I provided to Marti. For those who did not sign up or others who plan to attend, please contact Alain or myself or Marti directly. Thanks to all for attending MM56 and looking forward to MM57. Good luck to all in your hunt for Mr. Musky this summer.
